Please redo this book. I bought the hard copy to read it as Pynchon is a master. But the reader totally butchers this book. What was one of the most memorable moments of Bleeding Edge. I cannot remember being able to follow the story because the reading is so bad.

What didn’t you like about Jeannie Berlin’s performance. EVERYTHING!. Bleeding Edge has been called “a necessary novel and one that literary history has been waiting for” bya “hilarious, shrewd, and disquieting metaphysical mystery” by Booklist, and “exemplary dazzling and ludicrous” by The New York Times.

The novel was also named as a New York Times Notable Book of Judges Citation. Set inBleeding Edge is ostensibly a detective story centered around Maxine Tarnow, a fraud investigator and Upper West Side mom hired to look into DeepArcher (say it aloud), a part of the Web that amounts to an alternate reality.

The reader, meanwhile, is enmeshed in a novel with all the Pynchonian trademarks: riffs, conspiracies, crazy Dickensian. “The Bleeding Edge” is about that paradigm-shifting corruption of the American system, but it roots its critique in an intimate look at the lives and medical complications of.

“They gaze at each other for a while, down here on the barroom floor of history, feeling sucker-punched, no clear way to get up and on with a day which is suddenly full of holes--family, friends, friends of friends, phone numbers on the Rolodex, just not there anymorethe bleak feeling, some mornings, that the country itself may not be there anymore, but being silently replaced.

But “Bleeding Edge” is set in New York City, and the looming shadow of 9/11 touches every page. Nonetheless, many of those pages are outrageously funny, others are sexy, touchingly domestic. For it is the audacity or recklessness of “Bleeding Edge,” Pynchon’s new novel, also to sound like this: “Maxine notices this one party out.
